What freezes faster?

Hot water is know to freeze faster due to the Mpemba Effect. In my research all three times I conducted the lab I concluded the hot water did indeed freeze faster.

Hypothesis

I formed a hypothesis that I wanted to prove in my lab, so did a majority of my classmates. When I look through my classmates blogs there are competing hypotheses on the question will hot water or cold water freeze faster.
